Wedding Music Planner
Many brides and grooms don’t know where to start when choosing music for their wedding. We offer this list as a guide to the different parts of the ceremony and reception where music can be used. We encourage you to listen to CDs of wedding music and our own demo CD, and make a list of the pieces you like. At your consultation we will play samples of pieces so you can decide on your favorites.

Prelude: Musicians typically begin playing twenty minutes before the start of the ceremony. The mood of the music is generally calm and contemplative, to allow guests to relax and anticipate the ceremony.

Seating of Grandparents and Parents: You may wish to choose a special piece of music to seat these special people.

Processional: Depending on the size of your wedding party, this will range from one to several pieces of music. Often we play one piece of music for bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, etc., and another piece especially for the bride. This may be the traditional Bridal Chorus (“Here Comes the Bride”), Pachabel’s Canon in D, or any piece of your choice.

Ceremony: You may choose to have no music during the ceremony, or several pieces of music. We recommend having at least one piece of music during the ceremony, whether it be during a candle-lighting, after a reading, or as a meditation piece. This music is usually a short piece of 1-2 minutes, for the purpose of setting the mood, allowing you a chance to smile and enjoy the presence of your family and friends, or a minute of reflection.

Recessional: This music is joyful and exuberant, celebrating the marriage of two people. The bride and groom exit to this piece of music, followed by the rest of the wedding party.

Postlude: We continue playing celebratory music as the guests leave the place of ceremony. This music usually lasts 5-20 minutes, depending on how long it takes guests to exit, and if you wish to have music for your receiving line.

Reception: A Triem’s music provides the perfect background for dinner, cocktails and socializing. We can provide anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours of reception music, providing suitable music or pausing for special events such as toasts and cake-cutting.
